Quick Devlog on recent changes !


Hey ! Time for a quick devlog

I’m doing this devlog to adress the recent changes to the project ! My initial idea was to make a game that took from boss rushs and vampire survivors, but since this has changed some things needed to change

No more Skill Tree

First, no more skill tree ! I was planning to make it more interesting with real “skills” in it but I felt like this wouldn’t change teh fact that it isn’t relevant anymore. Now, powerups can spawn around the map like old arcade games

Powerups

About powerups ! they only bring stats boosts. Not very interesting, especially when I just told you a skill tree with only stats boosts wouldn’t be relevent right ? Well, since the game is centered around completing the DPS cycle why not lock the powerups behind a lock that can be destroyed when completing said cycle, and what about a temporary but strong buff that makes it worth it and brings secondary objectives in the middle of gameplay ? That what I wanted to bring when I wanted to put “Interphases” into the game but I think it would have slowed down the game a bit too much

Other

  • To insist on the importance of completing the DPS cycle, the tutorial has changed I hope you’ll like it !
  • To further insist on it I have made it so there are more occasions to use the Parry and the Dodge.
  • The controller support should be fully fonctional, not needing to press a “use controller” button to switch if you have any issue, please tell I’ll be happy to check it out !
  • I have also received assets from artists, I’ll add them to the credits whenever possible !

Yup that’s it, that was quick but I wanted to share my thoughts while slowing going towards a true beta version ! Once again, feel free to give me feedback on anything, thanks !
